Vocabulary Expert Swears Under Oath that New Technology Does Not Give Adults an Ethically Unfair Career Advantage

Researchers have known for many years that those people who have a superior vocabulary will earn more and progress much more successfully in their careers than others.

[NOTE: If you're looking to improve your vocabulary right now, we highly recommend Ultimate Vocabulary Software]

Earl Nightingale illustrated this well-established fact with his analysis of college graduates who took a vocabulary test. Their career and earning levels were then followed up over a 20-year period to see if there was any link between their word power and their earning power.

The link that Nightingale found was in fact so significant that he said, Without a single exception, in every case those who had scored highest on the vocabulary test given in college were in the top income group, while those who had scored the lowest were in the bottom income group.”

That study, and many more recent ones, prove beyond doubt that if you have a good vocabulary you will be more successful in your career and earn more money.

You probably have some questions now! Questions like: “Does that mean if I learn more words, then I can earn more money?” And: “Is there a quick and easy way I can grow my vocabulary?” Perhaps you’re worrying about: “If there is a quick and easy way to do this, is that cheating?! Are people getting an unfair advantage by knowing clever ways to learn more words?”

Most important of all, you will by now be asking yourself how YOU can cash in on a better vocabulary. The good news for you is that there are now all kinds of new technologies which you can use to get a head start in improving your vocabulary. And all of them are ethically completely acceptable.

Vocabulary building has traditionally been a boring task. It is hard to get motivated to drag out a weighty dictionary every time you come across an unfamiliar word when you are reading. But now, with new developments and research in both technological tools for vocabulary building and in our understanding of how the human brain operates, your route to word power can be much more interesting and fun than ever before.
Some of the ways the new technologies available today capitalize on our modern knowledge of how the brain works include:

  • Stimulating your brain with multiple ways of learning – so you see and hear the new word simultaneously. Some software also incorporates photographs for even more powerful learning.
  • Situational learning – providing you with lots of examples of real ways the word is used in situations that will be valuable to you at work.
  • Repetition – making it easy for you to review words you have already learned and commit them to your long-term memory.

With all these advantages available to you from today’s vocabulary experts, it is now easier than ever to build a killer vocabulary. No wonder some people think it offers an unfair advantage!
