Public Relations (PR) Definition - Business Communication Words

 

The process by which an organization communicates with their stakeholders (including the public, investors, government, etc) generating goodwill in return. Intended to maintain a good public image.

 

"During the labor strike all visits to the media were directed to our CIO (head of Public Relations in our organization)."

 

"In a statewide disaster, public relations will be coordinated through the state Public Information Officer (PIO)."

 

"Our public relations efforts have a lot of focus on our local community."
