Vocabulary forms an integral part of English. English without appropriate knowledge about vocabulary does not serve anything better. Vocabulary needs to be learnt daily and in a periodic manner. It is not good to assume that you can learn more than 15 words per day. Always try to learn words in progressive manner which improves your retention capacity and also the ability to memorize them. Building your vocabulary daily will improve your English and the ability to learn more number of words within shorter period of time.

One of the best ways to improve your vocabulary is to download words from study materials primarily focused on GMAT, GRE, CAT, SAT, etc. Study materials belonging to these competitive exams focus on extensive words. Word lists are available for free download and also commercially. Normally difficulty of these words gets increased as you pass stages.

It is good to learn words which are inter-related to each other rather than learning them individually. Learning words which are inter-related to each other increase your retention power and also gives you the context in which they need to be used. Meaning of the words should also be learnt because they help you in understanding the context of the word.

There are various websites which provide daily dose of words regularly to your mail account. Some of these services are free and others are charged on number of words. It is good to have articles, writings, journals, newspapers, etc delivered into mail box which gives good knowledge about different words and style of writing.
Read motivation articles if you are getting bored or tired of learning words daily. Importantly try to read the same piece of news from different newspapers which gives you understanding of different views of the same topic. Vocabulary can be improved by reading reputed newspapers and also journals from editors. Reading articles from newspapers and expressing your view in writing will certainly reward you with good English. Also do remember that you got to implement new learnt words relevantly in the article. This will improve your overall grasp and ability to speak and write English.

Pick up a good dictionary and write down new words daily in your note book or black berry. This will help you in quick review as well as in learning new words daily. Importantly make sure that you practise all learning sessions with complete devotion. As the saying goes anything done half heartedly will never be full filled.
